Certified Green Business

Our Green Initiative

We are committed to doing our part to reduce waste and pollution through our Green Initiative. We have been taking steps for years now to reduce, reuse, and recycle and now we are taking it a few steps further. If we all pitch in and make an effort, we can all make an impact on the health of our planet.

Waste Reduction and Recycling Policy

Planet Depos employees will reduce waste by limiting the amount of printed materials used, reducing plastic bottle use, reducing water waste (i.e., dishwasher use), using bulletin boards rather than paper, and avoiding the use of hard-to-recycle materials.

Supplies purchased will be the most environmentally friendly products possible.

We will reuse all materials when possible, including but not limited to, packing paper, Styrofoam, bubble wrap, electronics, appliances, and packaging materials.
We will also recycle all material that is not reused, including but not limited to, paper, bottles, cans, electronics, appliances, and packaging materials.

Energy Management Policy

Planet Depos will reduce energy use by using ENERGY STAR and EPEAT certified products, regulating refrigerator/freezer and hot water heater temperature, and using energy efficient lighting and electronics.

Veterans History Preservation Project

Stenographic Court Reporters Preserve Oral History of Veterans

The National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) and the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) have partnered with the United States Library of Congress Veterans History Project in order to preserve and protect the rich history of our nation’s veterans.

The spoken word: Tales and stories of bygone eras are held in the hearts and minds of the people who lived them. Slowly but surely, those people are slipping away, as is America’s oral history. These stories are special; they are meant to be cherished. These stories will never be told again once they are gone.

A tale such as the one told by the oldest living WWII veteran, 107 year-old Richard Overton. When honored by President Obama in 2013, Overton captivated everyone with his stories of life during WWII. He even gave life advice, “take no medicine, except Aspirin …stay out of trouble…. drink whiskey with morning coffee. “

Here in our Nation’s Capital we are often reminded of the stories and sacrifices of our veterans. Many great stories are within the hearts of U.S. Veterans, and they are ready to tell their tale. However, as more of the “greatest generation” passes away, it might be possible that their stories pass with them.

Planet Depos is proudly supporting the initiative of NCRF by offering the talents of its court reporters and videographers to local lawyers and their family members who are veterans, with this year’s focus again being on WWII veterans.

If you are interested in having an oral history recorded, kindly contact us.
