Each year, the Global Arbitration Review conducts surveys, research, and firm audits to determine the top 100 firms involved in arbitration around the world. The criteria used to develop the list are pending cases, merits hearings completed in the last two years, jurisdictional hearings completed in two years, bet-the-company hearings, etc. The cream of the crop is the top 30 firms, some of which have current portfolios as high as US$214 billion. Since the inception of the publication of the list, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer held the top spot; however, White & Case took the top position on the 2015 list. The top five positions are listed below.
Arbitrations are becoming increasingly more common as the preferred method of dispute resolution over classic litigation. As such, arbitration centers have continued to pop up around the globe in major cities such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Paris, The Hague, Seoul, and Tokyo. Law firms are recruiting more attorneys with specialties in arbitration and dispute resolution to keep up with the demand of more companies needing representation.
With this increase in arbitrations around the world comes the need for attorneys to have support throughout the preparation process and the arbitration hearings themselves. This support can come through an experienced and well-versed court reporting and transcription services firm. The court reporting firm can provide realtime transcription services, interpretation/translation services, printing and shredding of exhibits, recommendations for lodging, and last-minute on-the-ground support in the off chance an emergency should arise. Likewise, experienced trial consultants can also assist with powerful, interactive tools for the arbitrators that will aid in the clear and effective presentation of complex concepts.
So the next time you have a bet-the-company arbitration coming up in Singapore (or elsewhere), make sure that you reach out to a court reporting firm that can step up to the challenge and support a win for your clients!
